RECOGNISING RESIDENTS’ TALENTS AND PROMOTING DIGNITY
RECOGNISING RESIDENTS’ TALENTS AND PROMOTING DIGNITY
There is an all-too-common misconception that once people retire and perhaps begin to experience some age-related health issues, they lose their value to society, or worse, become a burden.
However, at Golden Care Home, we are aware of the fact that the skills, knowledge, and benevolence of older people doesn’t disappear when they retire. There are countless ways that our elderly residents can continue to give of themselves, if society simply helps facilitate their contributions.
The statue of Holy Mary, sculptured by one of our elderly residents and set up in the main reception area of our care home in view of the upcoming lent activities, is evidence of this fact. A highly talented resident at Golden Care, whose passion over the years has been sculpture and music, showcased his talent and workmanship, which was valued by all our residents.
