Golden Care is seeking a full time Housekeeper to join its team at its 230 bedded care home in Naxxar. Our employees are dedicated to empowering our customers to lead richer, fuller lives through the provision of good quality person centred care and stellar ancillary services.
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining Golden Care facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. Provides a pleasant living, like home environment for residents and an organized, safe working environment for staff.
This position is primarily responsible for daily cleaning and supplying of resident rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, common areas and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures and in accordance with the Golden Care Home objectives.
Essential job responsibilities include:
- Manages a team of room attendants including compilation of rosters and assigning of cleaning tasks
- Ensure that cleaning tasks assigned and carried out are in accordance with care home policies, following established schedules and using prescribed methods
- Responsible for the laundry services provided by the Home
- Maintains all assigned areas in a safe manner. Reports any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor or member of the leadership team.
- Follows all regulatory compliance standards.
- Maintains equipment and supply levels as needed. Reports supply/equipment needs to supervisor.
- Ensure that the disposal of domestic and clinical waste is done in a diligent and safe manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
- Appreciates the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property.
- Able to understand and to follow written and verbal directions.
- Understand proper use of community equipment.
- Able to communicate effectively with the staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means.
- Sufficient mobility and strength to move freely through the building and to assist transfer or otherwise move residents of facility.
- Assists with any resident need, as applicable.

Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
- Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility
- Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITS Diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping experience
- Previous experience working with seniors
