Other special occasions include Mother’s and Father’s Day, Easter, Festive Season (Christmas and New Year) as well as local Public Holidays. On these occasions we make it a point to include residents in the planning stage and we make an event out of simple things, like putting up the crib in the lobby or decorating the Care Home’s Christmas tree. The objective is not only to generate more interest and energy amongst our residents but also serves the purpose of creating chores enabling the residents to feel empowered and useful in spite of their limitation at times.
