Knowing how much our residents look forward to playing ‘bingo’ and cards, we make it a point to include these at least twice weekly in our events’ programme. Also, to create a fun atmosphere our events co-ordinator buys sweets and biscuits and gives these out to the winning resident. Bingo and cards are at times led by able bodied residents themselves to make the game more interactive and on other occasions the task is also done by our carers.
Other inhouse activities very much sought after are gardening, in house movies and Summer BBQs. Weather permitting, our residents are joined by our resident gardener and guided to plant herbs of their own choice with the help of our activity co-ordinator. Our residents also look forward to helping in the preparation of our annual Summer BBQs which are convened during the period July to September each year. Movie nights are however looked forward to when Autumn starts creeping in. Favourite movie titles are collated by our Events Co-ordinator, who then ensures to set them up in our TV areas on each lobby for our residents to watch in the evening.
